This week in the school year is always a busy one as our year six pupils sit the national assessment tests between Monday and Thursday; good luck to all of our students who have worked hard all year.

Congratulations to all of the children who took part in the Bilton Gala Parade last week . I am delighted to say that we won first prize for our fancy dress!

Before we look forward to the rest of this week I need to congratulate a number of our sporting teams for their achievements. The TAG rugby team were runners up in their tournament at Harrogate Rugby Club last week, winning three and losing one of their games. The Try Golf team also participated really well in their event after school on Wednesday. Huge congratulations go to our Year Five Girls Orienteering Team who won their recent Harrogate Schools’ Competition. Thank you to Mrs Sanderson and Mr Starkey who led both teams last week and to all of the parents who came to support our teams.

Last week’s book fair raised £700 pounds last week; thanks to Mrs Simpson and Mrs Warburton for their efforts in organising the event.

This week on Monday Bishopdale class will be heading to Harlow Carr Gardens for their summer trip. On Tuesday we welcome Andy to lead our worship for the whole school.

I am also delighted to say that both Mrs Simpson and Mrs Phelan will return to work this week after illness. The whole school is looking forward to welcoming both back to school.

Every class will also be busy this week planting potatoes in their buckets.
