Class Ambassadors
The school has a pupil’s council made up of elected representatives from each class. The council meets on a half termly basis and it provides the children with a forum to discuss the issues, which they regard as important. Elected members of staff are also on the council and allow the school to respond effectively to the issues raised by the children.
Community Ambassadors
The Fair Trade Group meet on a regular basis to discuss fair trade issues in school. The group is made up of children who are eager to make a difference. The group have invited speakers from Bettys, organised a fair trade harvest festival and ran a fair trade stall at various events.
Eco Ambassadors
This group of children meet regularly to discuss ways of making our school a healthier and greener place to live. This year they have helped to reduce our energy bills by turning out lights and saving water by turning taps off properly and composting fruit waste. They have also taken on environmental projects such as the bug hotel, vegetable box competition and maintaining the Peace Garden and litter picking.

Choir and Orchestra
We have a very active choir consisting of around 70 children from Year 2 through to Year 6. They meet every week on a Tuesday after school and regularly perform both in school and at events in Harrogate. Last year, performances included concerts at the International Centre and the Royal Hall, as well as with Harrogate Male Voice Choir. It promises to be another busy year for the choir – do check our Flickr pages for the latest photos.
Our orchestra meets before school on a Wednesday and currently has 30 members, who play a wide variety of instruments. They perform with the choir at Christmas and in the summer, as well as hosting their own charity concert in the spring. Last year they raised money for the Children’s Air Ambulance.
Mrs Wake runs both choir and orchestra..
