The last blog of the year covers only two days but will give me the opportunity to celebrate last week. The children were lucky enough last week to have three inspirational speakers. Mr Mark Ward, a parent at school who is sailing from York to Whitby to raise money for school funds in a boat made from plastic bottles that he is building himself spoke to the children early in the week. There is still time to donate over the summer period via the following just giving page: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/mark-ward
The children then had the chance to listen to Hannah Starling, Olympic diver from 2012 who spoke of the experience of competing at a home Olympics.
Finally on Friday the children and staff were wowed by the singing performance of opera singer, Sarah Fox. What a fantastic set of experiences for our children to enjoy.
I also want to thank Mrs Harrison and the year six camera club for a stunning photography exhibition of their work on Thursday last week
On Monday of this week we will be having our final super pupil worship of the year at 1pm whilst the yr6 pupils enjoy their leaver’s disco after school.
On Tuesday the leavers’ service starts at 10.30am at St John’s Church and the term finishes at 2.15pm on Tuesday.
Thank you to everyone for a wonderful year full of fantastic experiences and achievements for our children
I look forward to seeing you all on September 6th 2016.
Mr Symonds
