This week we filled the bird feeders for the school gardens. We also got very messy making our own fat balls! Then some of our oldest eco ambassadors went with Mr Gibbons to hang them up. At this time of year the birds can often need a little bit of extra help to get food so please remember to hang your bird feeders at home too.

If you would like to make your own fat balls you can follow our recipe here:

  1. Mix 2 cups of seed with 1 cup of melted suet or lard.
  2. Shape into balls using spoons, or press into an old yoghurt pot to shape
  3. Set aside in the fridge to cool

Then your fat balls are all ready for the birds!
