Welcome back Coverdale for the last half term of the year!

We hope that you have all enjoyed a good break from your work last week and had plenty of fresh air, walks, bike rides and family time.

Our whole school theme this week is ‘Authors and Books.’ We hope you are all enjoying reading lots, whether magazines, old favourites or discovering new authors. We’ve been enjoying reading, The Week Junior and Whizz Pop Bang magazines at home. I’ve been listening to some free books on audible too. Yesterday I had the excitement of getting a book in the post, called “The Street Under your Feet”. It is a non fiction book that folds out and is full of great illustrations, as well as including interesting science and historical facts. Did you know that archaeologists use a lot of science in their jobs?

If you’re ever needing any advice or recommendations as to what to read next, the BookTrust website is a great starting point for you and your families.

There are some great tasks to keep you busy this week, all linked to authors and books. Your maths work this week is some revision around equivalent fractions (one of my favourites).

Mrs Styles and I are back in school full time now, teaching the children of Key Workers and youngest children each day. I’m so sorry and sad that you’re all not coming back to school. Please remember that because of this, unfortunately we won’t have as much time to comment on your work, although we will try our best! We are still keeping everything crossed and hoping that we’ll all be back together again before the summer holidays.

Have a great week and happy reading!

Keep safe and take care
