The new term has started at a great pace with science club and animation club already up and running. This week choir, cricket, chess and rounders Clubs will start.

The children have responded brilliantly to our new vision Richard Taylor School with Dentdale Class even singing a song that they had created about Respect, Trust, and Service to the rest of the school. I hope that everyone has read their newsletter and put the key dates in the diary for the term ahead.

The union flag is flying to celebrate the upcoming Coronation of King Charles. Thanks to everyone who let us know that we had it upside down. It is now the right way round and flying proudly.

On Thursday 4th May we will be having a very special service at St John’s Church recreating the coronation with two children representing the king and queen will be crowned by Simon; the choir will perform, and a special soloist has been invited to sing. The day will also include a special coronation lunch prepared by Jo and her amazing team. Look out for an information letter with detailed news about this event next week.

The week ahead is a busy one on Tuesday some of the science competition winners from last term will be visiting the stunning Lime House Observatory after school.

On Wednesday gardening club will meet for the 2nd time and our wellbeing ambassadors will be leading worship for thew rest of the school. The children in Wharfedale and Wensleydale have a very special visitor on Wednesday when the school will welcome a High Court Judge to RTS. They will be coming to talk to the children about what they do and why justice and laws are important in our country.

It was a delight to be able to speak to some of our new starter parents this week. Everyone should have been contacted by a member of the senior management team to welcome them in person to RTS. The process of preparation for next September is already beginning in earnest.

Thank you to everyone who has already downloaded the Arbor App, if you need any advice or support re Arbor, please contact the school office.

The photos below show, the veg box gardeners, scientists from Coverdale Class and the yellow jumper winners from last week.
