Welcome to another busy week at RTS. On Tuesday the school will be walking up to St John’s Church to join Simon for a short start of year service; everyone is welcome to join us if they are free. We have already been delighted to welcome prospective parents touring the school. There are a number of tours taking place this week and if you know of anyone looking for a place in September 2023 please encourage them to book a tour of the school via the school office.

After school on Tuesday I will be pleased to represent the school at the annual Harrogate in Bloom Awards where several of our children have entered this years garden design competition. On Wednesday after school the gardening club will be enjoying an hour of weeding and planting in the school’s wildlife garden. If anyone is interested in helping the school maintain its garden areas your help would be greatly appreciated, please let the school office know and we will be happy to welcome you to our community of gardeners.

Friday is a very busy day in school with the Friends holding a Macmillan Coffee morning in the school hall from 9am. It is a great way to support an important charity and enjoy a coffee with parents before the rest of the day begins. The children will be having a cake sale during the morning, all donations of cakes would be greatly appreciated, particularly cakes which cater for a range of dietary requirements.

Also on Friday we welcome our friends from Bilton Grange and The Harrogate Rotary Group who will be working with our children on the Kids Aloud Music project.

Ribblesdale Class will be enjoying Harvest Live online from 11am on Friday where they will get to meet a farmer who will share what the Harvest means to him.

Our Harvest Festival will take place on Wednesday 12th October. Donations of Food to be split between the Harrogate Food Bank and the elderly from our community will be welcomed on the morning of the festival. The parents of all new children are welcome to join us for our service in the school hall at 9.15, please enter via the school office entrance after drop off.

The photographs below show the children from YR6 with the M&M theatre team, the friends working hard to sort the preloved uniform bank and Suzie with the choir enjoying their first practice of the year.
