Before we look ahead to what is the busiest week of the year, I would like to thank everyone for their support at the Christmas Fayre, held on Friday. It was a fantastic festive occasion. Special Mention to Becky Onslow for all her hard work in organising the event. We will let you know the final total raised next week.

A huge thank you to Mrs Crisell, Mrs Norman, Mrs Manwaring and Sadie for taking our Choir to the Christmas Concert at the conference centre last Saturday, the children were amazing, and a festive time was had by all.

On Monday the children from KS1 will be enjoying a festive storytelling event from Settle Stories in the morning before performing their Nativity to everyone in the afternoon from 1.15pm. After the performance parents who attend can collect their children (KS1 only) from class entrances if they wish.

Tuesday sees Nativity performance two in the afternoon at 1.15pm. In KS2 Coverdale, Wharfedale and Wensleydale Classes will be enjoying ‘What Happened Next?’ with David Feantonby. In the afternoon the children who have been enjoying Drama Club will be visiting Harrogate Theatre for a Tour. They will be performing for family and friends after school at the Theatre.

Wednesday sees the final performance of our Nativity for the children in KS2 to enjoy in the morning. In the afternoon the choir are heading up to Barr Chapel to sing for the Christmas Luncheon Club. After school it is the first of our Christmas Film Nights. Children will be collected from their classroom doors in the normal way. (Note collection for children in Bishopdale and Airedale is earlier than other classes.)

Thursday is our very special Christmas Hopes worship for children only at 10.30am. In the afternoon the children in Year Six will be hosting our special Christmas Community Tea. After school we are holding the 2nd Film Night.

Children wishing to make their Christingle for the services at the weekend can do so with Chair of Governors Jan Johnson in the afternoon, you can also collect an make your own grab bag from the entrance at the end of the day. PLEASE NOTE you will need to return the request slip to school to give us an idea of the numbers involved.

Finally, Friday is Christmas Jumper Day, this is entirely voluntary, we will be raising the profile of Save the Children but in recognition of the challenging financial times families are facing any donations are entirely voluntary. It is also Christmas Lunch Day and Christmas Party Day.

After that everyone will be looking forward to a rest at the weekend.

Merry Christmas

Andrew Symonds
