We start the week being thankful for the wonderful week our year 6 children had last week at Scargill. We were super proud of all our children and the way they displayed our school values to others. Thank you to the staffing team who made these memories possible.

It was also fantastic to see how many children walked or cycled to school on Friday. Why not make this a regular Friday event if you can?

We are thinking about our year 5 children from Wharfedale and Wensleydale isolating and learning at home this week. We have decided to postpone our sports themed week until they are all back in school the following week. Their teachers are looking forward to connecting with them via Teams each day and setting work on Seesaw.

In school we are reminding the children of good handwashing, cleaning classrooms at regular intervals throughout the day and ensuring the classrooms are well ventilated. Symptoms of recent positive cases have been a mild headache or runny nose so please don’t hesitate to book a test if your child displays symptoms.

The next group of year 6 children will be starting Bikeability tomorrow for two days. They are also busy learning lines and practising for their end of term play.

Let’s hope the sun shines on us all this week!

Mrs Crisell
