Autumn Term Newsletter 7

Dear Parents

As we reach the end of a busy and successful term, it is time to celebrate many of the successes of the festive period and thank those people who have worked hard this term.

Christmas Fayre

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s fayre a huge success. I know a lot of parents and children who worked incredibly hard at the event which was very well attended. It is one of the most important fundraising events of the year. A special thank you to Mrs Singleton who organised the event. The money raised, which is in excess of £3,700.00, will be used to update our laptops, complete work to the outdoor area and fund a very special day for all of the children to enjoy in 2016.

Tea Towels and Calendars

The sale of tea towels, calendars, mugs and other Christmas gifts has again been a huge success. Thank you to Mrs Hutchings for the great job that she did with the tea towels and to Mrs Kwai for the wonderful job in organising the calendars. Thanks to all of our sponsors and a special mention to Mrs Sagar who took the brilliant calendar photos for us.

Choir News

The choir and orchestra charity concert for ‘Reading Dogs – Pets as Therapy’ raised an amazing £122.00. Thanks to Mrs Wake and her team for their hard work throughout the festive season.

The choir can be heard performing on Radio York at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and again at 6 p.m. on Christmas Day. Their beautiful singing is well worth tuning to.

Bags2school

We will be holding another Bags2school collection early in the new year. Please keep all your unwanted clothes, linen, shoes and bags until then. A date will be sent out when we return to school. Thanks to Mrs Crawley for organising these collections.

Thank you

Finally, I wanted to thank every parent and grandparent associated with the school who have been so supportive this term. Nativity performances, choir, concerts, sporting events, fairs and church services have been brilliantly supported. Thank you – Merry Christmas and see you in 2016.

Yours Sincerely

Andrew Symonds
