Welcome to the first blog from Swaledale, we hope you enjoy reading and come back soon to find out what we have been doing.

In our Science we have been learning about liquids, solids and gases. We are looking forward to conducting our very own chocolate experiment soon.

In our maths we have learnt lots of different games, including; card race, place value race, ladders and tug of war. We have also enjoyed using these skills in our lessons to solve lots of problems. Our KIRF target for this half term is to know all the addition and subtraction facts for numbers up to 20.

Our topic this term is Chocolate and we have learnt all about when chocolate was first made and we have studied the history of the cacao bean. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory and we are very excited for our trip to York’s Chocolate Story. (Come back soon to see how we got on).

In our PE this term we have enjoyed playing invasion games with Mr Doughy, we have particularly enjoyed playing rugby and we are excited for our upcoming rugby tournament.

One of our favourite days this term so far has been the European day of languages. We enjoyed learning a little bit of German from our friend bruder Jakob.

Thank you for reading our blog, we hope to see you here again soon!
