Welcome to Wharfedale’s class blog

This year we have started a new topic on a book called Wonder. It’s about a boy called August who has a severely disfigured face at birth. The book is about his life and how he copes at school. Auggie has never been to school before and is starting 5th grade very soon. His head teacher is Mr Tushman who he has met on his tour of the school.

In maths we have been learning to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. When we are doing our maths we have a 1 chilli challenge, 2 chilli challenge and a 3 chilli challenge, so we can choose the one we are most comfortable with.

In literacy we have been writing in the first person and linking it with our topic Wonder. We wrote a diary entry where we had to be either Jack, Will, Julian or Charlotte. To correct our writing we had some editing stations, we had to check our work for any mistakes that had to do with the station we were on.

In R.E we have been learning about what justice means. We had a couple of ideas so our fabulous teacher, Mrs Saunderson gave us a spider diagram to write our ideas down.
